Kantar’s Worldpanel division is searching for a collaborative Senior Cloud Engineer. Based in Lisbon, Portugal this is an incredible opportunity to be part of our exciting vision for the future!

Role’s mission

Kantar Worldpanel is undergoing a technological transformation journey with the vision to be a world-class engineering organisation – and we are looking for dynamic Cloud Engineers to join our new Cloud Platform Engineering team and help us enabling our Product Engineering Teams to release customer value faster, and most importantly safely.

Enablement is one of our core principles, and our success is achieved by demonstrating excellence in Cloud Governance, Automation, Security, Effective CI/CD as well as on Code Management, Monitoring and Observability.

About our tech stack

  • Azure is our chosen public Cloud platform provider, and we’re mostly using Azure Infrastructure resources (e.g., Virtual Networks, Private Links, NSGs, IaaS platform with Virtual Machines, PaaS platform with Kubernetes, Databricks, Data Factory, App Services, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Key Vault), and Cloud-Native resources like Container registry, Container Apps, App configuration, App Gateway, API Management and more. 
  • We’re also using Azure DevOps for our work item management, version control (GIT Repository) and pipelines for CI/CD.

       

This is an exhaustive list, and we do not require you to be an expert or experienced in all of them, as being a member of our Cloud Platform Engineering Team will give you the opportunity to learn and use most of them!

Key outcomes

  • Improve the management of several Azure subscriptions through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and Ansible.
  • Build code-first Infrastructure (IaC) with a focus on quality and reusability.
  • Work on an Innersource approach to leverage technical teams' knowledge to benefit all teams.
  • Assist technical teams on Azure platform with a focus on Azure Well-Architected Framework Pillars: Reliability, Security, Cost Optimization, Operational Excellence, and Performance Efficiency.
  • Automate infrastructure management using Terraform, Ansible, and scripting.
  • Operate secure practices such as defense-in-depth, zero-trust, and the principle of least privilege.
  • Produce samples and POCs to enable internal teams to achieve more.
  • Support AWS to Azure migration projects, ensuring seamless integration and optimization.
  • Have and support a strong end-to-end customer ownership mindset in all teams.
  • Be a trusted team member, showing your seniority by supporting other team elements on Azure and CloudOps best practices and guidelines.

Key Capabilities

Your background will ideally look like this…

  • University Degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Administration or equivalent fields.
  • Business proficiency in English (B2 Level Minimum required).
  • Considerable previous experience in similar roles.
  • Professional experience in automating Cloud Infrastructure using Terraform.
  • Familiarity with building dashboards to monitor cloud services.
  • Solid knowledge in scripting using Bash.
  • Experience with AWS to Azure migration projects.
  • Experience with Azure administration and governance – although not required will be highly beneficial.
  • Solid experience with Azure Well-Architected Framework – although not required will be appreciated.
  • Experience with cost optimization practices (ideally with experience on FinOps framework) – although not required will be appreciated.
