We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Key Account Director to join our team, focusing on FMCG and Retail clients. The successful candidate, reporting directly into the German CCO, will be responsible for driving business growth by managing and developing key accounts, identifying opportunities for account expansion, building long-term relationships, and leveraging our innovative marketing and market research solutions to meet client needs. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of projects and deliver exceptional service to the client.  

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and manage relationships with key FMCG and Retail clients.  
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing and potential clients.  
  • Navigate a complex client network without getting locked behind gatekeepers. 
  • Unlock growth from new & multiple budget holders within the client organisation 
  • Conduct industry and client situation analysis to understand client challenges and needs and tailor solutions accordingly. Present and promote Kantar's solutions, emphasizing our strengths in Brand Building, Creative Pre-testing, Media, Innovation, Customer Experience, AI-solutions suite and other market research tools 
  • Orchestrate and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals. 
  • Achieve ambitious sales targets and contribute to the overall growth strategy. 
  • Collaborate with global client directors and leverage the network to build relationships and drive business growth.  

 

Requirements: 

  • Proven experience in key account management and/or Business Development, preferably within market research, media or creative agency. Ideally experience with FMCG or Retail industry clients 
  • Alternatively, insights manager, researcher or marketing role within FMCG or Retail Industry.  
  • Strong understanding of the FMCG and retail market dynamics and trends.  
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. 
  • Ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships. 
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking. 
  • Self-motivated with a hunter mentality and a focus on achieving results.  
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and stakeholders. 
  • Fluent in written and spoken German and English 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience in market research (institute or industry) or AI solutions is a plus. 
  • Familiarity with CRM software and sales tools.
