We are looking to appoint a Strategic Insight Director to lead part of our Meat, Fish & Poultry (MFP) division. This is a fantastic opportunity for an existing Strategic Insight Director or experienced Consumer Insight Director aspiring for promotion. The MFP division has shown strong growth in the past year to strengthen our industry leading position, working across all of the major manufacturers and industry boards, and is at the heart of some of the major trends and consumer considerations. This role will give the right candidate autonomy to run your own team and portfolio of clients whilst working closely with a Business Unit Director. You will be a key part of the team, developing and nurturing the talent in your team, fostering great senior relationships within strategically important clients and creating thought leadership pieces to elevate our position in the industry. The division has a client base of ~50 clients. Leading your own part of this team you will have the opportunity to shape your own team and work closely with New Business and Expert Services to expand our position in the industry and take an active role across both Fresh Foods and the wider business as a senior member of the Worldpanel team.

Key deliverables:

  • Lead a strategic or portfolio team to support the delivery and implementation of the business unit vision, purpose & strategy.
  • Implement activities that proactively drive the evolution of client relationships across your area of responsibility.
  • Ensure the team employs KANTAR behaviours.
  • Delivery of team revenue targets and account plan(s), ensuring effective pipeline management to deliver against strategy.
  • Understand and monitor contractual T&C’s / renewals and start renewal processes in a timely fashion, gathering client feedback & materials to strengthen our position.
  • Effectively use of the Worldpanel accounting, revenue management tools ensuring consistent use across team and clear forecasting to key partners and management of client invoicing, UBR and bad debt.
  • Champion the quality of the insight work for your clients by continuously developing your team's knowledge of our capabilities and how to bring them to life for our clients.
  • Role model best-in-class insight delivery by leading on key strategic pieces of client work and elevating the client impact as a result.
  • Own operational relationship to address data quality challenges.
  • Connect with clients at a deeper level and taking them beyond a transactional relationship, proactively identifying and effectively resolving challenging client situations.
  • Be responsible for your own development by maintaining a live dialogue with your line manager and working with your manager to seek out training that meets your needs.
  • Responsible for formal line management processes including ownership of resource planning and recruitment, performance management, career development, performance reviews, change requests, disciplinary process etc.
  • Build strategic multi-year client plans for your area of responsibility and lead in their implementation.
  • Support your BUD in talent management and succession planning to secure the long-term success of your team.
  • See opportunities to develop thought leadership in your area of expertise that enhances our reputation with your client base.

  • Consistent track record of building deep client relationships with senior partners.
  • Capable of balancing a complex combination of priorities from clients and the internal business.
  • Able to lead the short-term delivery of commercial targets, medium term forecasting/influencing of commercial success and long-term planning for growth.
  • Strong commercial and negotiating skills with a proven track record of success in delivering against targets.
  • The skills to deliver outstanding line management and 1:1 people development.
