Role Description

The Senior FP&A Manager role will be responsible for working closely with key Finance leads across the business, reporting the overall financial performance of the business, and for the production and consolidation of annual budgets, forecasts and 5YP. They will also be responsible for supporting Finance Business Partners and other business stakeholders by providing information and analysis to enable decisions to be taken with full understanding of the financial impact they will have. The role requires strong financial planning, analytical and communication skills.

Month-End

  • Work in close partnership with Regional FDs across the Division in managing the reporting process
  • Provide clear, timely and accurate financial reporting for the Divisional CFO, Exco and Kantar Group
  • Oversee month-end communications to the local teams to ensure timely and accurate reporting
  • Ensure all Kantar reporting requirements are delivered in line with internal Kantar reporting calendar including but not limited to:  Monthly Flash/Actuals, New Hires, Severances, Proformas, YE packs
  • Review of the month-end flash/actual results, delivery of group consolidation, and provide high-level commentary of results
  • Preparation of monthly board report (MBR) covering P&L and Balance Sheet, including co-ordination of senior contributors, and ensuring feedback is incorporated, consistent and in-line with the direction of the company
  • Liaise with other departments to solve issues and ensure smooth processing of transactions
  • Support the automation of reporting across the region in conjunction with the regional and country controllers (One Stream)
  • Ensure communication of Kantar policies and best practice across the Division
  • Respond to ad-hoc queries and support improvement initiatives and system upgrades

Quarterly Reforecasting, Budgeting, 5YP

  • Play a key strategic role in the preparation of the Divisions annual budget, and major forecasts helping to deliver a strategically coherent, integrated financial plan
  • Enriching the process to ensure market/competitor conditions, pricing, contractual changes and the products portfolio is fairly reflected in the financial budget/forecast
  • Oversee Divisional reforecasting cycle (timetables, consolidation of divisional numbers, presentation of analysis of divisional performance by domain and region including explanations for key movements)
  • Providing support to the Divisional Finance team during the budget and forecasting process
  • Allocation of group targets and driving discussions on the delivery of these
  • Review of submitted regional forecasts and budgets to ensure they are aligned with targets
  • Supporting Director of Group Finance manage and deliver the 5YP

Other

  • Work with regional FDs and Finance Business Partners to improve quality of orderbook and pipeline at a unit level with focus on improving accuracy of forecasting.
  • Collaborate with Finance Business Partners to classify, quantify business risks by providing reliable, accurate, comparable, and timely information
  • Other admin tasks such as coordination of Central PO’s, governance relating to the access of Finance systems

Job Role Requirements

Understanding the business, shaping, and managing performance, and business reporting

  • Assist with the analysis and interpretation of financial trends using standard models and analysis to support strategy, theory, and ideas
  • Provide commentary on key performance drivers and early warning to management as material variances are detected and recommend actions, interventions to close performance gaps
  • Provide insight from the analysis on job and contract profitability and an understanding of the drivers of growth and efficiency
  • Originate and present analysis to help management understand financial trends and opportunities
  • Support the improvement of cost management on jobs, and Commercial teams to provide challenge on cost efficiencies
  • Collate information and develop insights to aid decision-makers in improving revenue, GM and profitability on domains, customer, jobs, product or OpCo (e.g., utilisation and resource allocation)
  • Liaise with Client Service where there are job related queries, providing access to necessary job data
  • Support the business in continued improvement in, and tracking of, net working capital
  • Provide guidance to C&A on value assumptions applicable for judgemental accruals in line with corporate policy
  • Support product leaders on ad hoc basis

Role Requirements

Essential:

  • Managing and improving FP&A process within large matrixed organisations
  • Excellent knowledge of providing insightful financial analysis, guiding in decision making
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial planning, reporting, forecasting and budgeting.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast -paced environment
  • High integrity and confidence
  • Ability to identify major risks and work collaboratively with management teams to develop plans to mitigate those risks
  • A willing and collaborative team player, with a positive can-do attitude
  • Ability to work in uncertain and ambiguous situations
  • Senior stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Degree level education and recognised accounting qualification.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Office 365.
  • Fluency in English

Desirable:

  • Operated in complex matrix environment of similar size and scale and able to inspire confidence at the centre whilst working collaboratively with the local business to help them be successful in the market
  • Experience of working in a similar industry or a contract-based organisation
  • 10 years PQE (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with strong experience in FP&A
