About the job
As a Lead Data Engineer at Kantar, your role is pivotal in shaping our technological future and driving the Syndicated Platform forward! By partnering with architects and product managers, you will implement strategies that deliver key services and technical capabilities essential to adopting and driving Kantar’s ambitious Data Product roadmap, including the BrandDynamics platform.
Your responsibilities will include designing, building, and operationalizing enterprise-grade pipelines, frameworks, and services. As a key member of Kantar's Technology division, you will provide technical expertise and support federated product engineering teams. This role offers the opportunity to work with industry-leading cloud-native technologies and contribute significantly to delivering high-impact solutions for our customers!
Job Goals
Design and implement enterprise-grade data pipelines, frameworks, and services to support the Syndicated Platform.
Collaborate with architects and product managers to define Data Engineering design patterns and drive the Data Product roadmap.
Provide technical expertise and support to federated product engineering teams, ensuring consistency and adherence to agreed standards.
Oversee the implementation of data models, data acquisition, and transformation pipelines, ensuring optimal performance for various access patterns.
Drive continuous improvement of internal data acquisition and transformation frameworks, capturing and prioritizing technical debt items.
Support change management and data governance activities, ensuring compliance and risk management for all data pipelines and products.
Engage with stakeholders and platform support teams to verify capacity planning and implement internal process improvements.
Ideal Skills & Capabilities
Candidates must possess a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Lead Data Engineer role, along with at least 5 years of prior experience as a Data Engineer.
Strong expertise in Data Engineering design patterns, best practices, and continuous delivery and leading a data team.
Proficient in modern cloud data technology stacks, such as Azure, and distributed data programming frameworks like Python and Apache Spark.
Accomplished in implementing scalable data acquisition and transformation pipelines, ensuring optimal performance for varying access patterns.
In-depth understanding of data concepts, data structures, modeling techniques, and provisioning data to support diverse consumption needs.
Experienced in DevOps toolchains for managing CI/CD and applying Data Management principles, including security and data privacy.
