Research Manager – Media Insights Team (Manila, Philippines)
Role Overview
As a Research Manager for the Media Insights Team, you will play a key role in delivering media effectiveness projects for media owners, agencies, and advertisers across Australia.
Working closely with Senior Client Managers and Directors, you will support all aspects of project delivery—including costing, coordination, implementation, day-to-day management, reporting, analysis, and the presentation of campaign effectiveness research. Additionally, you will help coach and develop junior researchers to ensure high-quality work and maintain operational excellence throughout the research lifecycle.
You’ll work closely with the Team Leader and collaborate with onshore teams to ensure alignment, accuracy, and efficiency in delivery. You will model being an indispensable brand partner to our Media clients and Australian client-facing teams, driving a highly collaborative culture of winning together.
To succeed in this role, you will be passionate about
- Understanding and growing clients businesses through research and recommendation.
- Integrating media and digital practices into the broader client service offering
- Advising clients on effective and efficient media strategies
- Understanding the media ecosystems - relationships between creative agency, buying agency and publishers and clients
- Interpreting media plans/strategy and implementing appropriate research solutions
Job Goals
- Lead project coordination, implementation, and day-to-day management of Australia campaign effectiveness studies (brand lift, CrossMedia, in-context testing etc)
- Manage timelines, resources, and milestones to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Coach and support junior researchers to build foundational research skills and deliver high-quality outputs.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency across all deliverables, including scripts, data tables, dashboards, and reports.
- Support in presenting effectiveness studies to clients
- Review deliverable alignment with research objectives.
- Maintain compliance with ISO 20252 standards and internal quality procedures.
- Drive team performance with a focus on client satisfaction and renewal of projects.
Role Requirements & Capabilities
- Educated to a degree level – ideally majoring in Communications, Marketing, Media, Statistics, Math, Economics, Psychology, Sociology, Management or any related discipline.
- 4-5 years’ experience in a research agency, media agency, media vendor or technology arenas
- Experience in cross-channel media planning and measurement desired
- Experience in sales, client service and ideally media buying/implementation, preferably at an advertising/media agency, publisher or ad technology company
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on data accuracy and visual storytelling.
- Knowledge of various statistical and analytical techniques and/or tools (such as RFS/Survey Reporter and Q).
- Demonstrates intellectual and professional integrity.
- Innovative, adaptable and flexible.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to manage internal stakeholders and foster a collaborative team culture.
- Proven ability to coach and mentor junior team members.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Familiarity with Kantar’s Meaningful Different and Salient framework, Survey Delivery Model, QLIB and Configurable Automation is an advantage.
