Job Title: Director of Software Development – TGI
Location: London, Grays Inn Road
Work pattern: Full time/Permanent/Hybrid working
Role Description:
Kantar Media is a global leader in media research, helping the world’s most influential brands, media owners, and agencies make data-driven decisions. Our expertise in audience measurement, consumer insights (TGI), targeting, and advertising intelligence powers smarter strategies across the media landscape.
To support our mission, we are seeking a visionary and experienced Software Development Director to lead the TGI Technology unit — the powerhouse behind the technology that fuels our global consumer profiling solutions. This is a high-impact leadership role at the intersection of data, software innovation, and business transformation.
You’ll lead a diverse, talented team of engineers, managers, and QA professionals to deliver best-in-class solutions that support the evolution of Kantar Media’s TGI platform. With a focus on innovation, scalability, and quality, you’ll be instrumental in defining the future of how global consumer data is harnessed to drive better media decisions. We’re looking for future leaders — someone ready to take the next step in their career and shape both the technology and the team behind a globally respected platform.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Define and deliver a software development strategy that supports TGI’s business goals and long-term product vision.
- Champion a culture of innovation, agility, and continuous improvement within the team.
Team Empowerment
- Inspire, lead, and grow a high-performing global team of software engineers, testers, and technical managers.
- Foster collaboration, accountability, and knowledge sharing across teams and time zones.
Project & Delivery Ownership
- Oversee the delivery of complex, high-value software solutions — on time, within scope, and budget.
- Drive agile best practices, CI/CD, and modern software engineering principles.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure software meets rigorous quality standards and supports ongoing ISO9001 accreditation.
- Embed cybersecurity and architectural compliance into the development lifecycle in collaboration with central teams.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as the key technology partner to senior stakeholders in Product, Operations, Architecture, and Cyber Security.
- Communicate risks, roadmaps, and progress transparently and effectively.
Innovation & Emerging Tech
- Stay ahead of technology trends, particularly AI/ML, cloud computing (Azure, GCP), and data platforms — and explore how they can elevate our product offerings.
Budget & Supplier Management
- Manage the technology budget, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
- Lead vendor/supplier relationships to ensure high-quality development partnerships.
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in software development, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of software engineering practices and cloud platforms (Azure preferred; GCP a plus).
- Proven track record of delivering scalable, data-driven platforms in complex environments.
- Deep understanding of agile methodologies, modern DevOps practices, and global delivery models (onshore/offshore).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with AI/ML technologies is a significant advantage.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to align tech initiatives to broader strategic goals.
