AI Software Engineer – Copenhagen
About the Role
We’re looking for a motivated AI Software Engineer to join our Global AI team. You’ll help build and maintain our machine learning framework and AI infrastructure, ensuring it is scalable, reliable, and easy to use. Working at the intersection of software engineering and data science, you’ll enable global teams to deliver robust Bayesian inference models and AI‑powered products efficiently and securely.
You’ll champion engineering excellence across the team—driving best practices in code quality, testing, version control, CI/CD, and deployment. This is an opportunity to contribute to a high‑impact AI platform within a collaborative, quality‑driven organisation.

Goals
- Build and optimise the AI software framework used across Kantar.
- Promote high‑quality engineering standards within the AI team.
- Bridge data science and engineering teams to ensure scalable solutions.
- Contribute to automation, testing, and deployment pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
Software Development & Infrastructure
- Develop and maintain core components of our AI/ML framework with a focus on performance and scalability.
- Write clean, well‑tested Python and R code.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
- Support containerization, orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud deployment in collaboration with platform engineers.
Collaboration & Communication
- Partner with global and local data science and engineering teams.
- Participate in code reviews, technical planning, and architectural discussions.
- Translate research or statistical code into production‑ready services.
- Integrate ML outputs with backend systems via APIs and pipelines.
Security & Quality Assurance
- Maintain strong testing, monitoring, and code‑quality practices.
- Support automated vulnerability detection and remediation.
- Promote observability, maintainability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- 3+ years in software engineering or backend development (ML/DS exposure ideal).
- Proficiency in Python or R.
- Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, CircleCI, Azure DevOps).
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of version control, testing, and deployment practices.
- Strong communication skills and cross‑functional collaboration ability.
- Comfortable in Linux environments and with shell scripting.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with AWS or Azure.
- Knowledge of Bayesian modelling or statistical workflows.
- Experience with security tools or vulnerability scanning.
- Exposure to transitioning codebases from R to Python.
