About the job
This hybrid role combines the analytical expertise of a Power BI Report Analyst with the technical oversight of a Power BI Administrator. The individual will be responsible for designing insightful dashboards and reports while also managing and optimizing the Power BI environment. This role supports business decision-making, ensures secure and scalable BI operations, and enforces governance and compliance standards!
Job Goals
Design and develop Power BI dashboards and reports for internal and external use.
Collaborate with business units to gather requirements and translate them into visual analytics.
Maintain and verify data accuracy across reports and visualizations.
Analyze datasets to identify performance trends, risks, and opportunities.
Present insights in written and verbal formats to managers and executives.
Monitor data pipelines and ensure timely refreshes and updates.
Administer Power BI tenant settings, workspace access, and user permissions.
Configure and maintain data gateways for on-premises and cloud data sources.
Monitor usage, performance, and capacity to optimize resources.
Implement governance policies, security protocols, and compliance standards.
Support deployment pipelines and lifecycle management of reports and dashboards.
Automate administrative tasks using PowerShell or REST APIs.
Troubleshoot issues related to data refreshes, report failures, and user access.
Maintain documentation and best practices for Power BI operations.
Ideal Skills & Capabilities
4-6 years of experience in business intelligence, data analysis, or Power BI administration.
Proficiency in Power BI, DAX, Power Query, and SQL.
Strong analytical and visualization skills.
Experience with data modeling and ETL processes.
Excellent communication and storytelling abilities.
Deep understanding of Power BI service architecture, licensing, and capacity planning.
Experience with PowerShell scripting and Microsoft 365/Azure AD integration.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Familiarity with Excel, Tableau, or other BI tools is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300) or Power BI Administrator certification.
Experience with cloud data sources (Azure, AWS Redshift).
Experience with Power BI Premium and Embedded capacities.
Understanding of data governance and compliance.
Knowledge of audit logs, usage metrics, and performance tuning.
