Role Overview
The Manager of Panel Data Quality serves as the primary guardian and custodian of the product, ensuring the integrity of our household consumer panels across Africa and the Middle East. At Worldpanel by Numerator, our clients rely on our data to make critical marketing and business decisions; therefore, you are the final authority on market-readiness, ensuring every insight is accurate, consistent, and reflective of the market.
In this capacity, you act as a strategic bridge between Client Service and Operations, driving the innovation and process efficiencies necessary to safeguard the value of the Worldpanel product and maintain the highest quality of panel data.
Role Description
Key Responsibilities
1. Custodian of Data Integrity & Stewardship
- End-to-End Oversight: Maintain a profound understanding of the data value chain, including Field Operations, Product Dictionaries, and Data Production.
- Compliance Monitoring: Audit and monitor compliance across various operational areas to ensure local and global standards are met.
- Expert Advisory: Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for Client Service teams, providing guidance on complex data quality matters and methodology.
- Stakeholder Management: Balance the high-pressure needs of Client Service with the practical constraints of Operations, negotiating solutions that satisfy both quality and delivery timelines.
2. Data Production & Monthly Sign-off
- Release Validation: Review and sign off on monthly data production for the MENA region, ensuring all trends are logical and data is market-ready.
- Advanced Data Cleaning: Conduct complex edits regarding pricing, packaging, and volume to maintain dataset consistency.
- Outlier Management: Identify and investigate statistical outliers, recommending and implementing data adjustments where necessary.
3. Investigations & Troubleshooting
- Root Cause Analysis: Lead deep-dive investigations into data discrepancies or client-reported issues.
- Coverage Analysis: Independently perform coverage and representative analyses to ensure the panel accurately reflects the target universe.
- Collaborative Resolution: Work closely with the Operations team to implement fixes for identified data quality gaps.
4. Innovation & Process Enhancement
- Technical Evolution: Identify and track new technical solutions to automate or improve current manual processes.
- Panel Modernization: Support new panel launches and enhancements with expertise in Field Management and Product Dictionaries.
- Efficiency Drivers: Constantly refine internal processes to reduce lead times while increasing data accuracy.

3. Stakeholder Diplomacy & Communication
- Empathy & Diplomacy: Balances commercial urgency with operational constraints, providing Client Service with the clear answers needed for client discussions.
- Communication Excellence: A versatile style capable of explaining complex data issues to non-technical stakeholders and building strong internal networks.
Role Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following foundational technical and industry competencies:
- Fundamental Understanding of Market Research: A strong grasp of panel methodologies, sampling techniques, and the nuances of consumer behavior data.
- Data Extraction & Wrangling: Proven ability to pull data from various sources and transform it into clean, usable formats for analysis.
- Fundamentals of Data Science: Familiarity with data cleaning pipelines, anomaly detection.
- Statistical Knowledge: A fundamental understanding of statistical distributions, significance testing.
- Extensive Usage of Microsoft Office Suite: Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint for stakeholder reporting.
- Programming (Bonus): Proficiency in Python for data wrangling, analysis or complex statistical investigations is highly desirable.
